“If you like dancing and Chinese people, you’ll love it!”

A little odd but visually stunning, this is an excerpt from Mathew Barney’s Cremaster 3. Mathew is a well know international artist who is married to Bjork. The two collaborated on the equally stunning film ‘Restrained Drawing #9‘ in 2005. Most of his films are hard to find so if you get the opportunity to see them do.

ACID TEST, a film produced by NRDC, was made to raise awareness about the largely unknown problem of ocean acidification, which poses a fundamental challenge to life in the seas and the health of the entire planet. Like global warming, ocean acidification stems from the increase of carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere since the start of the Industrial Revolution.

Leading scientific experts on the problem, many of whom appear in the film and the outtakes below, believe that it’s possible to cut back on global warming pollution, improve the overall health and durability of our oceans, and prevent serious harm to our world, but only if action is taken quickly and decisively.

I know the title could use some work, and I know it’s meant more for kids (which I guess considering that I still have all my transformers, starwars and ninja turtle action figures might explain why I liked it). The character design and animation were beautiful, the story even though somewhat simple still had a great message, all round a great film.

So not only does i love dust have a great name but they have great work as well. A multi-disciplinary design boutique that specializes in illustration, animation and trend prediction. Located in the heart of East London they definitely know what they’re doing.

I love their illustration and typography work, the 2 images above are some prime examples (i just got back from palm springs and they also pretty much sum up my trip, minus the jogging biscut).
